Specsavers' bushfire appeal pledge

January 13, 2020 Staff reporters

Specsavers will donate A$5 from every sale in January, up to A$100,000, to support communities across Australia suffering the repercussions of the ongoing bushfires.

The company gave A$18,000 to The Salvation Army’s Disaster Appeal in December 2019, supporting New South Wales and Queensland communities affected by the devastating fires before Christmas.

Following the devastation seen across Australia since, Specsavers has pledged an additional A$100,000 to be split across several local organisations including the New South Wales Rural Fire Service, Victorian Bushfire Relief Appeal, South Australia State Emergency Relief Fund and the Salvation Army Disaster Appeal.

Specsavers' optical stores in the affected areas will offer immediate support by providing replacement frames and lenses for customers directly affected by the fires. Stores with audiology services will also provide hearing aids and replacement hearing aid batteries to impacted customers.
