Medmont has launched its next generation Meridia Advanced Topographer, raising the bar on high-performance corneal topography combined with dry eye evaluation all in one, said the company.

“The Medmont Meridia has been designed to increase practice efficiency by offering multiple clinical applications in a single instrument platform,” said distributor Tim Way, managing director of the Ophthalmic Instrument Company (OIC). “Along with the advancements in corneal topography technology, the Meridia offers high resolution, full-colour anterior and fluorescein imaging and videos, enhanced meibography imaging, tear meniscus height and tear-breakup time.”

The Meridia will allow eye care professionals to grow and extend their dry eye, myopia control and speciality contact lens offerings, while also documenting anterior eye pathology and assisting in patient education, said Way.

“With the Medmont Meridia, I can do a whole dry eye assessment in under eight minutes; both eyes,” said Jagrut Lallu, director of Rose Optometry in Hamilton, who has been beta testing the Meridia over the past 12 months.

Meridia is available in two modalities, classic and professional, with the professional version including Medmont Studio 7 software, offering a choice of grading scales and interactive reports to support patient engagement, compliance and retention.
