Titan Optical is now New Zealand’s agent for Ellex, distributing its full range of anterior and retinal lasers.

Following the acquisition of Ellex by Quantel Medical, a division of French laser technologies firm Lumibird Group, the move makes sense as it consolidates Quantel Medical and Ellex under one distributor, said Titan’s founder and director Campbell Gordon. “With the addition of Ellex, Titan Optical now offers one of the most diverse laser portfolios in the country. Excluding the big lasers that surgeons would have for performing Lasik, we can cater to every ophthalmologist’s need in clinic laser requirements.”

Ellex produce an excellent product, said Gordon. “I’m very fortunate to have the Ellex portfolio as part of Titan Optical now and the existing install base is a big credit to former distributor Toomac and MedLase Servicing.” Gordon said there will be no changes for end users. “Anyone who has products under warranty from Ellex or Quantel Medical will still be covered, and we will of course look after them with the continued support of MedLase Services.”

Titan’s Ellex portfolio includes Solo (SLT), Ultra Q/Reflex (YAG/LFT), Tango/Reflex (YAG/SLT/LFT), Integre Pro (retinal laser) and Integre Pro Scan (retinal pattern laser), said Gordon, adding a new Ellex and Quantel Medical dry-eye product will be unveiled at the time of the virtual 52nd RANZCO Congress at the end of February.
