Michael Holmes Premium Eyewear was awarded the People’s Choice Award 2021 at the recent Newmarket Business Awards gala evening, hosted at Auckland’s Cordis Hotel. Voting was for all businesses across Newmarket, but Newmarket Business Association’s CEO Mark Knoff-Thomas said the optometry practice was a clear winner, receiving most shoppers’ votes.

“This is a fantastic boost not only for us but also for independent optometrists and for optometry in general,” said co-owner and director Kay McFarlane. “Since the first lockdown we have noticed a sharp increase in support for us as a local and independent New Zealand business, for which we are truly grateful. We are very proud of this award on behalf of our dedicated and passionate, hard-working team.”

Michael Holmes Premium Eyewear was also a finalist in two other categories: best retailer and best customer experience, selected from more than 100 entries.
