Modstyle is re-launching Eclipse Bordeaux, one of its most popular frames that helped place the company firmly in the Australian market as a supplier of quality affordable eyewear in the 1990s.
The Bordeaux style is designed as a unisex frame, which suits ‘on-trend’ and style-conscious consumers, said Mark Wymond, managing director of Eyes Right Optical which acquired Modstyle in 2016.
“Constructed from stainless steel with a block hinge created by Modstyle and cast by one of our speciality partners in South Korea, the unique rim is rounded in its makeup, which is pleasing to the eye,” he said, adding this method isn’t commonly used in constructing frames today. “Most other manufacturers would use a flat metal rim as it is easier to source and create.”
Modstyle has chosen traditional and modern colours including tortoiseshell and gold, which Wymond said is a classic combination for the style; black and gold, which was popular in the 1990s; and new bone and gold, which is a trending now and complements the other colour options.
