Optica Life Accessories has acquired Australian optical accessories supplier KE Optical, expanding its reach across Australia and New Zealand.
Announcing the acquisition, Optica said the move strengthens its position as a market leader. “We’re proud to welcome KE Optical into the Optica family,” said Optica managing director Tom Nichol. “Our goal is to build on KE’s strong foundation and deliver an even higher standard of customer service, responsiveness and reliability.”
Many of KE Optical’s products are Australian-made and it has an established partnership with Wallara Social Enterprise, which employs people living with disabilities.
All KE Optical artwork files and branding records will be securely retained, ensuring continuity for existing clients, with current contact details remaining in use during the transition, the companies confirmed. Former owner Michael Krutsch said the sale followed his decision to step back for health reasons. “It was important to me that KE’s customers and suppliers would continue to be well supported,” he said. “Optica has the scale, team and systems to take KE forward.”
Nichol said the integration would be gradual, to ensure uninterrupted service. “Our vision for the future, with KE Optical and Optica coming together, is to create a truly one-stop destination for quality branded optical accessories, tools, parts and equipment all from one place,” he said.
