CMI Optical has extended its eyewear portfolio taking over the distribution of Canadian-based Westgroup’s internationally known brands, Fysh, KLiik, Evatik and Izumi, and the German-made OWP brands, Mexx, Metropolitan and OWP.

The addition of the Westgroup and OWP brands came about as the previous distributor, Ascot Eyewear’s Gerald Hill, is retiring, said CMI manager Brad Boult. “We were very fortunate that Gerald decided to approach us to take on the Westgroup and OWP collections. These are excellent ranges that are popular in New Zealand. It’s a very exciting time for us.”

To help support the new, larger portfolio, CMI has recruited Ascot’s sales manager Tony Brook. “Tony is well known in the industry and has worked with many over the years. We are very fortunate to have him join the team,” said Boult.

Kicking-off 2021 with a bang, CMI has also released several new children’s collections, including Disney Princess, Frozen, Avengers and Spider Man, and is looking to expand its optical and sun range for Etnia Barcelona.
